He also wanted the app to alert transit users to any relevant transit delays all in a beautiful, easy-to-use interface.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To get from idea to concept to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/xd.adobe.com\/view\/ed078381-c37f-49fa-725c-a2e3b1ebf788-9b36\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prototype<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Poissant followed this design process:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Define the needs of the business<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Empathize with the user and understand the problem that exists<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ideate solutions that meet the needs of both<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create a prototype to test and validate assumptions<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Correct designs based on user feedback and repeat until the product is ready<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Poissant emphasizes the last two steps in the process, believing they are essential for creating a customer-centric product.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Screen-Shot-2020-02-12-at-4.47.49-PM.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"751\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Screen-Shot-2020-02-12-at-4.47.49-PM-751x1024.png\" alt=\"UX design process\" class=\"wp-image-10588\" srcset=\"https:\/\/d2re7sjnpekmig.cloudfront.net\/prod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Screen-Shot-2020-02-12-at-4.47.49-PM-751x1024.png 751w, https:\/\/d2re7sjnpekmig.cloudfront.net\/prod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Screen-Shot-2020-02-12-at-4.47.49-PM-220x300.png 220w, https:\/\/d2re7sjnpekmig.cloudfront.net\/prod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Screen-Shot-2020-02-12-at-4.47.49-PM-768x1047.png 768w, https:\/\/d2re7sjnpekmig.cloudfront.net\/prod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Screen-Shot-2020-02-12-at-4.47.49-PM.png 870w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA useful lesson I learned in the course, is to validate our assumptions every step of the way. But, to help in his career development, he knew some additional skills would solidify his new position. \u201cI&#8217;ve always been a very strong visual designer but lacked experience when it came to things like user research and how to conduct a usability test.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2vuvhEA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UX design course<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seemed the best way to learn those additional skills.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe UX design course at Brainstation was immensely helpful in giving me the confidence I was looking for as a well-rounded Product Designer,\u201d he says, adding that he does not want to stop there.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI plan to work on more portfolio projects that inspire me and solve needs that I, as well as others, have. An example might be a roommate app that helps users find like-minded people who share the same values and general sleep schedule. Or perhaps a budgeting app. In addition to this, I hope to continue to work on challenging projects in real life that solve real business and user
