Kelsey is a recent grad of BrainStation&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/brainstation.io\/course\/online\/digital-marketing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Intro to Digital Marketing course<\/a> in Toronto.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Say Yes to Small Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find the right opportunities that will lead you closer to where you want to be<\/li>\n<li>Kelsey started out with working at reception at a fitness studio &#8211; an opportunity she almost turned down but said yes to, which allowed her to be a part of the community and launch her own group wellness program. It also led Kelsey to meet the Vega Team during a group workout &#8211; they exchanged contact info and the rest is history! Saying yes was a great idea, and doing that with some heart and soul opened up networking opportunities and set her up for an interview for a dream opportunity<\/li>\n<li><strong>80 percent of our results come from 20 percent of our efforts \u2013\u00a0so start putting in the effort!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t write off anything as non-impactful &#8211; small opportunities will have a tremendous impact on your future<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">All of the yes\u2019s will begin to add up, leading to great things<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">Become more of an essentialist &#8211; say no when you need to shift to a place of more control<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">Book recommendation: Essentialism<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">Go with your heart and find out what\u2019s going to contribute to your long-term plan<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\"><strong>Experiential marketing:<\/strong> It\u2019s about bringing a brand to life through the creation of memorable experiences, often face to face with consumers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">You being you and leaving an amazing feeling with someone is the most impactful thing on your life as an experiential marketer<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">What is your \u2018side hustle\u2019 aka what are you doing to fill your time outside of your work hours? Can you monetize it? Hone in on what you\u2019re good at &#8211; it could offer an opportunity to build an entrepreneurial career<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.65;\">Everyone has different strengths that can be monetized &#8211; there will always be someone who is interested in what you have to offer<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>\u201cMost of what exists in the universe are actions and all other forces, resources and ideas have little value and yields few results. On the other hands, a few things work fantastically well and have tremendous impact.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Richard Koch<\/p>\n<p><strong>Working for a Company With a Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In order to be noticed in a company with a strong culture, do something different<\/li>\n<li>Submit an \u2018anything but average\u2019 application<\/li>\n<li>Share more of you and your story<\/li>\n<li>Kelsey filmed herself to showcase her skills that would fit with the role &#8211; she wanted to find a way to stand out against the competition<\/li>\n<li>People want to know you and find a way to connect with you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>\u201cThe definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 \u2013 Albert Einstein<\/p>\n<p><strong>If Often Starts With Your Resume&#8230;Kelsey\u2019s Application Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I may not read the resume, but I will see the design and layout<\/li>\n<li>You don\u2019t need a cover letter<\/li>\n<li>Lead with something interesting in the first few sentences<\/li>\n<li>Bonus points for creativity &#8211; make me smile!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Staying Motivated<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What got you here, won&#8217;t get you there (never stop learning!)<\/li>\n<li>Talk to one new person each day<\/li>\n<li>Never discount past job experience<\/li>\n<li>When you have no motivation, do a power hour \u2013 break an hour into three 20-minute intervals, and give yourself those 20 minutes to
