Before BrainStation, Connie was a freelancer, working on building pitch decks and sales decks for startups in Toronto and the US. Prior to freelancing, she was a marketing manager at a startup. Learn how Connie launched her career as a UX Designer.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I didn\u2019t have any experience with UX design, but I was doing UX without knowing it in some areas of my job. I sort of knew Photoshop, and I had a lot of experience storytelling through data, which I found very helpful in design.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why BrainStation?<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;I enrolled in the program because I wanted to be a Designer and move out of marketing, but I didn\u2019t know how to do it on my own. I wanted structure and a community to help get me there. I was pretty excited, a little nervous, and somewhat oblivious to everything the program entailed. Wireframing and journey maps were very new to me and I wasn\u2019t sure what to expect.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is she now? &#8220;<\/strong>Coming out of the program, I accepted a position at Shopify as a design intern.
