Next month the inaugural Merging+Media Conference is taking place in Vancouver and the former head of Digital Media at the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) is delivering the keynote address.
Merging+Media is “where traditional and interactive producers converge to explore the dynamic business of cross media production”.
Taking place on October 28th and 29th, day one is the M+M Masterclass, led by International Transmedia specialist Anita Ondine and Darcy Jouan of SLAM 360 in Hollywood. The Masterclass promises to help media producers with cross media projects in development and to help fine-tune their proposals and business plans. The format includes small group mentored workshops, one-on-one coaching and a $10,000 development prize for Best Pitch.
Day two is Conference day and includes a showcase of “Best in Class” case studies, discussions on cross-platform business strategies, trends and best practices in cross-media production, and cross-media networking opportunities.
Merging+Media will be held at The Woodwards Heritage Complex – the new media hub that is the home to the National Film Board, Simon Fraser University’s Contemporary Arts at Woodwards and W2 Community Media Arts.
Tickets are available for individual days or the entire conference and early-bird pricing is in effect until September 30th. Register online.
