Angela Ahrendts, the former CEO of British luxury fashion brand Burberry, joined Apple as the senior vice president of Apple Retail earlier this year.
This week Ahrendts penned a blog post on LinkedIn as an “influencer.” In itself, this is not uncommon. But for a high-up exec at Apple? It’s unheard of. Under the reins of Steve Jobs, executives were sworn to silence and secrecy.
Her blog post, then—appropriately titled “Starting Anew”—is more evidence that Apple is gradually but surely moving away from the Steve Jobs way of doing of things and beginning to embrace the Tim Cook way of doing things. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is too early to tell.
