A realm once dominated by BlackBerry has been taken over by Apple.
According to a new study from SMB cloud services provider Intermedia, more than 75% of mobile devices activated at small and medium-sized businesses in North America this year were eiher an iPhone or an iPad. In a distant second was Samsung with less than 12% of mobile device activations at SMBs.
BlackBerry failed to crack the top three, with third place going to Motorola at 5%. Overall, the number of annual activations has increased nearly threefold since 2011.
Interestingly, SMBs are ignoring the iPhone 5c.
“Despite its lower price, the iPhone 5c was activated far less than the more expensive iPhone 5s in October 2013, the first full month since its release,” says Intermedia in its report. “Even more interestingly, the older iPhone 5, 4s and 4 models also all saw more activations than the 5c.”
