Apple is now taking preorders for its two latest tablet iterations, the larger iPad Air 2 and the smaller iPad Mini 3, in Canada.
Supply restrictions don’t appear to be an issue with the iPads, unlike with the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which are still difficult to obtain in a timely manner in some regions even a month after launch. Shipping times for both tablet models are “2-4 business days” in Canada.
The Mini 3 has only limited upgrades over the Mini 2, such as Touch ID and a gold colour option, which will leave many consumers instead buying the year-old Mini 2 (formerly known as the iPad Mini with Retina)—virtually the same product but for $100 less.
The Air 2, however, is expected to sell well. Some are suggesting it’s Apple’s deliberate strategy to make the larger tablet its flagship product in that category.
