Blackberry getting bruised: Indonesia joins UAE in demanding security changes

First, the United Arab Emirates impose a looming October ban on Blackberry services, and RIM’s stock shares take a hit.

RIM counters with the big announcement of Blackberry Torch and the fabled OS 6.

But now, Indonesia is making similar demands to the UAE and the Blackberry gets another black eye.

According to an Associated Press report, the country’s government is firmly requesting that Research in Motion establish a local server. This would mean encrypted data would not be routed thrugh RIM’s network operating centres outside of Indonesia’s borders.
