There are big expectations for Waterloo’s Research In Motion next week as they host their annual Wireless Enterprise Symposium in Orlando. A growing number of industry analysts say Apple’s iPhone, Motorola’s Droid and other rival smart phones could keep taking market share from the BlackBerry until RIM delivers an improved operating system and browser.
In the past, RIM used the WES event to show off new products and partnerships and this year should be no different.
RIM co-Chief Executive Jim Balsillie recently heightened expectations by promising major product launches in the year ahead and told analysts on a conference call that if they saw the company’s playbook they would be “blown away”.
Considering the recent research by Crowd Science that found that four out of ten Blackberry (and other smartphone users) would switch to Apple’s iPhone as their next smartphone purchase, Balsillie better be right.
So, what should we expect to see from BlackBerry next week?
