BlackBerry May Close Office in Sweden, Axe 100 Jobs

BlackBerry is considering closing its offices in Sweden.

The decision would mean a loss of up to 100 jobs.

“At this time, we are considering the closure of our offices in Sweden. Since this may impact approximately 100 employees, we are now initiating consultations with the employees’ trade unions,” a spokesperson told Reuters.

BlackBerry currently employs roughly 7,000 workers. Its Swedish office mainly handles software design.
