Canadians, and many smartphone users, seem to have a love – hate relationship with Research in Motion (RIM) and their BlackBerry devices.
The BlackBerry was one of the first mobile devices to offer consumers (mostly business professionals) the ability to send and receive emails without having to be at their computer. Canadians love a home grown success story. But Apple’s iPhone has captured most of the consumer market.
And now, it seems that the BlackBerry brand will compete with Apple.
In the “new” tablet market.
According to BlackBerry Leaks and CrackBerry there has been a lot of buzz these past few days on RIM wanting to and developing a tablet. Some of the buzz seems to surround RIM ordering larger display screens, RIM’s recent purchase of a vehicle infotainment manufacturer, and just plain speculation.
Is RIM developing a BlackBerry tablet? Will there be a new BlackBerry mobile device with just a bigger screen? Or is this much ado about nothing?
One thing is for sure: we at Techvibes will be keeping our eyes and ears open for further development and news regarding any tablet announcement from RIM.
If RIM does enter the tablet market, what do you expect from it? Will they have more developer options than the iPad? Will you be able to make phone calls with the new BlackBerry tablet? We would love to hear your thoughts. Please comment below.
