Cascadia Summit Names Winning Startups and Plug and Play Ventures Writes Cheques

Tonight Startup Week Vancouver wrapped up with the Cascadia Summit at the Telus World of Science.

The sold-out Cascadia Summit is Launch Academy’s “premiere event showcasing the most promising startups from Western Canada” and the highlight was 16 startups pitch live in front of a sold-out audience.

According to Launch Academy, more than 100 applications were evaluated by a selection committee of investors and entrepreneurs from Canada and the US. The finalists will present to an panel of judges that includes Dafina Toncheva from US Venture Partners, Sumeet Jain from Intel Capital, and Bill Bryant from Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Techvibes picked Techvibes 20 alumni Control Mobile to finish strong and they didn’t disappoint, finishing in the top three along with Optigo Networks and winner Magicflix. Plug and Play Ventures will be investing in all three startups.
