Vancouver’s 3rdWhale is launching their iPhone application on January 20, Barack Obama’s inauguration day. 3rdWhale’s iPhone app is a location-based service to help users find green businesses and services near them, in order to make environmentally-sustainable decisions. 3rdWhale says on the invitation that “[a]s Obama brings hope to the policy and government pieces of a sustainable future, consumer choices play a role in creating change in business; the 3rdWhale Mobile application makes it easier for people to choose ‘green’.”
3rdWhale will be showing a recording of the historic event, and drawing for some prizes (including an iPhone!). The company is encouraging everyone who attends to register for One Million Acts of Green, and will have computers available to do so. Check event details here.
Launched in 2008, 3rd Whale is a young green-focused tech startup in Vancouver, hoping to enable “sustainable living through the use of mobile and web technologies.”
