WolfCop, the named Top Project of the CineCoup Film Accelerator’s inaugural year, to slated to be filmed in Saskatchewan.
The horror-comedy by Regina filmmakers Lowell Dean, Bernie Hernando and Hugh Patterson will be produced by CineCoup.
“Filming in Saskatchewan is essential to the DNA of WolfCop,” says CineCoup CEO J. Joly. “It was always our first choice to shoot in this province and we appreciate the support of both Sask Film and Creative Saskatchewan in making this happen. We are really happy to work within the existing parameters of both associations to make this announcement today.”
Joly credits WolfCop filmmakers and the support of local businesses, media and fans in ensuring the film would be made in Saskatchewan.
Through the efforts of Dean, Hernando and Patterson, Wolfcop (trailer here) gained a devoted following both in Canada and internationally. WolfCop was announced as CineCoup’s Top Project in June 2013 after advancing through a gamified selection funnel.
Based on fan enthusiasm and engagement, the film was selected to receive up to $1 million in financing and guaranteed Cineplex release.
CineCoup was part of GrowLab’s second cohort.
