CIX: Accipiter & Acquisio

The first wave of ten company presentations at CIX are underway and I’ll be covering them two per post for both the morning and afternoon sessions. Up first for the caffeine-fueled audience is Accipiter Radar Technologies Inc. ARTI is an advanced radar technology company offering unique, advanced surveillance products to the US Homeland Security and aviation safety markets. ARTI is a spin-off of Canadian defence contractor Sicom Systems Ltd. ARTI’s Tim Nohara stressed that their technology is not a science project but rather a mature product that has achieved solid technical and market validation through repeat sales to the largest, most influential and most demanding customers in its markets.

Acquisio Inc. is a SaaS (software as a service) company that offers a pay-per-click (Google Adsense, Yahoo! Search Marketing, etc.) management software designed specifically for advertising agencies. The company was founded in 2003 as an interactive agency specializing in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and eventually began building software tools for its own use in order to serve its growing customer base. In 2006, Acquisio made the decision to focus exclusively on their PPC management software. Anyone managing multiple PPC campaigns with Excel spreadsheets understands what a time-saving solution Acquisio could be.
