Check out more details YOU Innovate contest here.

Christi Millar, Alberta Director for CYBF, says “One of the things that we’re doing nationally for GEW is the CYBF YOU Innovate Tournament.  It’s based on a concept coming out of Stanford that I saw utilized at Mount Royal University last year.  It’s pretty powerful – and really demonstrates that the spark of a great business idea really does come from looking at things in different ways.

The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) was established in 1996, and since then, the not-for-profit organization has invested in more than 4,500 young Canadians who have established businesses that have created 18,000 new jobs, $125M in tax revenue, and hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and export revenues.

Contest kicks off September 26th with the announcement of the top secret, everyday household object. October 18th is the closing date for submissions. Public voting ends October 25th. During the Global Entrepreneurship week, all of the regional winners will be announced leading up to the National Award winner announcement on November 20th.

Anything that gets young entrepreneurs excited about innovation and a chance to win a share of $25,000 in prizes and a trip to U.K. is a good thing. Tweet it, like it, pass it on.
