DemoCamp Edmonton 8 Preview

DemoCamp Edmonton 8 is set for this Wednesday, September 9th and looks to be another fantastic event.

DemoCamp is a variation of an un-conference  where local companies can come and show what they are working on. Past events have been huge draws for the Edmonton tech community, and organizer Cam Linke anticipates an even bigger showing this time around. Six companies are demoing their products at the event and Techvibes has a sneak peak at what three of them will be presenting.

Daelan Wood will be showing an application he made for people in the Digital Media industry in Canada. People looking for work can create a profile, link to their portfolio, upload or create resumes and search and apply for jobs. Companies looking for help can post jobs and search the profiles for potential employees. There are too many features to cover off in a few sentences but hopefully this gives you a rough idea of what the demo will be about.

Antoni Kowalczewski and his team will be demoing ReJoyce, a large joystick-like device for the rehabilitation of people who have suffered a spinal cord injury, stroke, or other neurological impairment. ReJoyce uses adaptive computer games to motivate people to complete their rehab sessions.

Shine Clinic Scheduling Application
Adam Rozenhart and Jeff Siegel nline  will be demoing a scheduling app they developed for the Shine Clinic, a student-run medical clinic providing health services to under-served youth (

Be sure to come and support Edmonton’s tech community and take a look at the impressive lineup of demoers. DemoCamp will be held at the U of A campus in ETLC Room E1-017 at 6:30. Be sure to head over to the RATT for drinks and socializing after the event wraps up.
