On March 18th DigiBC is hosting Social Networking in Transmedia Hollywood: A Strategic Master Class at the Emily Carr on Granville Island.
The event’s panel will include four Los Angeles-based Social Media Specialists as part of a strategic master class on Social Networking Processes, Strategies and Experiences.
- Darcy Jouan – As President of Slam Internet Mr. Jouan and his team lead the effort to develop online content for the hit CBS television show “The Ghost Whisperers”. This effort involves the development of original content while still maintaining the original episodic TV brand.
- Shira Lazar – The Emmy nominated Social Media Maven who bridges the online and on air worlds for CBSNews.com, tracking the best social trends and tech on pop culture. Montreal born Shira will share her experiences on blogging for one of the most high profile networks on television and discuss ways to include YouTube, Twitter and online blogging to help increase viewership in your interactive strategies.
- Gregory Markel – As President of Infuse Creative, Mr. Markel is a foremost authority on Search Engine Optimization and has been a sought-after speaker in strategic position of brands from every major studio in Hollywood including Universal and Warner Brothers.
- Peter Huh – Chairman and Co-Founder of Vimation, a top video interactive media firm in LA. The VIM platform creates a dynamic online marketing environment where video is no longer limited to linear playback and consumers are able to lean forward and interact directly with a video to get more information, shop or navigate online.
The day-long class will include discussions on Transmedia trends and challenges faced by traditional media producers using social media techniques to cross over into the Interactive Online space. Tickets are $40 for member and $60 for non-members – register online.
