Digital Puck hosts hockey and success in Silicon Valley

Earlier this month the C100 in partnership with Digital Puck hosted the 2nd annual Canada Tech CEO Forum at the Google headquarters in Mountain View, California.

The event was a top notch gathering of some of the most influenential Canadian CEOs and VCs in the Valley including key executives from Google, Cisco, RIM and EA.

Over 150 people turned out for the January 11th event with 30 companies presenting. A panel of Canada’s great tech exits was well received and featured PlateSpin (Novell), Clarity (IBM), Taleo (NSDQ) and SocialDeck (Google).

Reports back included active dealmaking, connecting, and networking with many of the participating companies arranging follow-up meetings and some even extending their stays to act on new opportunities.

Event organizer and Bridgescale Partners co-founder and Managing Director Rob Chaplinsky noted that “the co-mingling between canadian CEOs and entrepreneurs was excellent”. Canadian entrepreneurs demonstrated that they can create and commercialize technology that is world class in the eyes of many of valley-based executives, venture capital and seasoned entrepreneurs who have had highly successful exits.

Extra-curricular activities include twenty skaters taking part in the North vs. South hockey game and 120+ taking in a rare Toronto Maple Leafs win against the San Jose Sharks.
