DoGood takes a charitable spin on ad-blocking

DoGood, a web browser extension out of Ottawa, offers a different option for those bothered by ads on the web.

Rather than outright blocking them like the popular Adblock Plus, DoGood replaces them with ads for philanthropy, green initiatives and other organizations and companies that “do good.”

On top of this, users can get a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing that half the revenues from the extension are donated to charity.

However, like Adblock Plus, DoGood also provides an easy way to white-list a site and allow its normal ads to be displayed (just a right-click away.)

The browser extension works with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari and is available from the DoGood Headquarters site.
