Flurry Announces Top 20 Apps, List Includes Montreal’s Echoer

Yesterday Flurry announced the top twenty finalists of its inaugural App Spotlight Awards. The top three will be announced at SXSW this weekend. Flurry received over 700 application entries and evaluated on innovation, market potential, and business scalability to selected the top twenty finalists.

The company has partnered with VentureBeat at SXSW this year to bring attention to up-and-coming apps through its Command the Spotlight contest and Echoer by Montreal’s Echo Labs Limited made the cut.

The Echoer app allows you to read minds and explore the world of thoughts around you. Built on a fun and engaging visual platform, Echoer lets you shape and explore a world of thoughts, ideas and discoveries anywhere, anytime. Echoer was created by Daniel Cowen and David Surfer of Echo Labs Limited in Hong Kong but is now based in Montreal.

From this group three winners will be announced at SXSW this weekend, with each starring at their own launch party hosted by Flurry at the Alcatel-Lucent Trend Lounge, located at the Downtown Austin Hilton Hotel. Winners will demo their product to a packed audience of industry peers and investors. App Spotlight Launch parties take place for three days in a row on March 10, 11 and 12 and are open to all SXSW attendees.
