Generational Differences in How People Search for Jobs

Not everyone searches for work the same way.

Robert Half Technology’s latest annual Salary Guide reveals some interesting workplace trends, particularly generational differences.

One notable difference is how millennials search for work versus their baby boomer counterparts. For example, only 9% of millennials use recruiting companies, versus 14% of Gen X workers, while 10% of millennials use a company’s public career website, compared with just 5% of baby boomers.

Millennials also favour social media channels, while baby boomers prefer to rely on word-of-mouth.
