Google Brings Indoor Street View to Businesses in Canada

Google’s Street View feature in Maps is fun, but it’s frustrating when you can’t do more than look at the exterior signage of businesses. Fortunately, the software giant has now made this possible.

Google recently launched a business photos program to help businesses attract customers. Specially trained “Google Trusted Photographers” provide 360-degree, interactive panoramas of the interiors of businesses. The panoramas are seen on Google Maps and Google Places.

This new program is only available in select countries—thankfully, Canada is one of them. In Canada, available cities include Vancouver, Victoria, Winnipeg, Calgary, Alberta, Manitoba, Montreal, London, Kitchener, Ottawa, Windsor, and Toronto.

Google says that in order to be eligible, a business must have a Google Place page listing (which is free). Most business types can participate in this program, the company says, including restaurants, retail stores, beauty salons, auto dealerships, dental and medical practices, and health clubs.
