Google has launched its ebooks platform in Canada today.
The Google eBookstore offers up digital books in the same fashion as Amazon and Kobo, offering content readable on Android and Apple smartphones and tablets, as well as PCs and most e-readers,
Hundreds of thousands of titles are available out of the gate plus over 2 million free public domain books. Google has partnerships with Penguin, Random House, HarperCollins, and several other publishers. The ebookstore was launched in the U.S. in December 2010 and in the U.K. last month.
Unlike Amazon, there will no physical copies of books sold on the platform.
