HackDays are hacking their way across Canada this spring and this Saturday they land in Vancouver for HackVAN. HackVAN is the 2012 Vancouver-based edition of HackDays, the one-day API programming hackathon events that take place across Canada.
For one day, teams of one to three developers work on integrating with one or more of the sponsor APIs. Judges from the local tech community judge based on awesomeness and technical difficulty, and we award fantastic prizes including a MacBook Air, iPads, and e-readers.
HackVAN is lucky to have eight different APIs to choose from, so hackers of all types should have something to sink their teeth in to:
HackVAN starts with a mixer on Friday night at Electric Owl so participants can meet everyone and find development partners, leaving all of Saturday to code an entire application. HackVAN takes place from 9am to 8pm on Saturday, March 24t at the swank offices of A Thinking Ape at 322 Water Street. HackVAN tickets are $10 (which includes food and beer) and you can register online.
