SickKids is hosting Hacking Health for Kids, Canada’s first child-focused hackathon from May 2 to 4.
The event will be held at at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning in Toronto. The hackathon will begin on Friday at 5pm and end on Sunday at 4pm.
During that time designers, developers, and product managers will collaborate with patients, doctors, nurses, other health-care professionals and hospital administrators to develop digital and mobile health solutions to front-line healthcare problems.
Winners will have the opportunity to test out their ideas over the next year at SickKids or another organization where children and families receive care. Hacking Health aims to challenge seemingly entrenched problems by testing innovative concepts and ideas that can be rapidly prototyped and refined.
Tickets for health-care professionals, developers, designers, patients, and enterprise are available now.
