Hootsuite Appoints Chief Financial Officer Ahead of Rumoured IPO

Social media management plaform Hootsuite this week appointed Sujeet Kini as chief financial officer.

In this role, Kini will lead the finance, facilities and legal departments at Hootsuite, the company says.

Hootsuite also welcomed Paul McFeeters, former CFO of Open Text, to the Hootsuite Board of Directors. Open Text, Canada’s largest publicly traded software company, is where Kini hails from as well. He has a background in corporate finance and accounting at both public and private companies.

“2016 is shaping up to be another high growth year for us. We’re excited to welcome Sujeet to our leadership team and Paul to our Board of Directors,” says Ryan Holmes, CEO of Hootsuite. “Their strong financial leadership is ideal for the next chapter in Hootsuite’s growth.”

By “next chapter,” Holmes may mean going public. It’s something that’s been on the rumour table for a couple of years now, following major venture capital rounds and Holmes himself saying an IPO is part of his ambition for the company. A veteran CFO seems like the final piece to the puzzle, so we’ll be watching Hootsuite closely in 2016.

“I’m looking forward to being part of an exciting journey and contributing to a success story,” said Kini.
