HootSuite launches App Directory integrated with YouTube, Flickr, Tumblr, and Get Satisfaction

Vancouver-born HootSuite, the popular social media dashboard, has launched an App Directory featuring integrations with YouTube, Flickr, Tumblr, and Get Satisfaction.

Available immediately to HootSuite Pro and Enterprise customers, and to be rolled out to all users in the “near future,” these integrations allow users to upload, search, and comment on YouTube videos and Flickr photos, as well as publish blog posts and comment or re-blog on Tumblr blog posts, and participate in Get Satisfaction support conversations—all within the HootSuite platform.

The new App Directory also opens up opportunities for third party developers to build extensions into the HootSuite platform.

“We look forward to seeing the unique extensions, mash-ups and integrations savvy developers create for the HootSuite App Directory,” says Ryan Holmes, CEO of HootSuite. “Our rapidly growing customer base is eager for more tools to spark their social media powered campaigns and build their brand online to drive leads and awareness. If you have an idea, I encourage you to apply for access.”

It is worth noting that the startup is hosting a hackathon in Vancouver on Friday, November 25th in an effort to meet with local talent and “generate ideas for further integrations and mash-ups” for the company’s new app directory.

In the future, the App Directory will be integrated with Disqus, SlideShare, Posterous, Summify, Constant Contact, and Chatter.
