My friend Renee Blodgett introduced me to RepairPal last May and I should have been paying more attention. I got in a car accident a few weeks ago and have been searching for a body shop ever since. Although not available for us folks in Canada, for US residents, the start up is an online portal for providing instant search results for independent and unbiased repair estimates, user ratings and reviews, plus car advice you can’t get anywhere else. All you have to do is type in your location, your make and model of the car you have and press search.
RepairPal is an independent, unbiased resource designed to deliver repair price transparency and the expert information car owners need. Our team of expert technicians has helped us comb through a mountain of parts prices and labor time data to ensure you have the information you need when it’s time for a service or repair.
Also, there is an encyclopedia and a free iPhone application that you can dowload and the company has just announced a partnership with AAA in Nevada, Northern California and Utah.
Through the partnership, consumers will easily be able to find and identify AAA Approved Auto Repair Shops within Northern California, Nevada and Utah, using the most comprehensive Auto Shop Directory available on the Internet at www.RepairPal.com/directory. AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities have passed a rigorous selection process and regular annual inspections to stay in the program. AARs offer a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on all parts and repairs for AAA Members. Participating AARs may offer additional specials and discounts for AAA Members. AAA can help resolve issues that arise with the shop, if needed.
For those in the US, enjoy. For us in Canada, I wish we had something like this.
