ICT Council launching tool to help prepare foreign IT workers for Canadian workplaces

The Information Communication and Technology Council is set to launch a new tool to help foreign-educated IT workers prepare for the Canadian workplace.

The Canada Readiness Tool is an online self-assessment, that runs in both English and French, designed for foreign IT workers looking to work in Canada.

The self-assessment allows potential job-seekers to test themselves against required competencies, workplace culture workplace communication.

The online tool has already been tested in pilot programs in India, China and the Phillipines as well as across Canada.

The Canada Readiness Tool will launch officially January at ICTC’s 2010 Immigration Initiatives Partnership Celebration in Ottawa.

The online tool was developed with funding from the Government of Canada’s Foreign Credential Recognition Program.
