Toronto-based Intertainment has moved up to the big leagues with its new status as a Global Agency Partner with corporate behemoth Microsoft. The company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Itibiti Systems, Inc, will integrate key Microsoft services and tech into the itibiti VOIP-powered social networking platform.
itibiti users will now be able to access Microsoft Live services direct from the itibiti desktop platform, but the company’s core strength remains its VOIP app. With this new partnership with Microsoft, however, the company is poised to unleash an app which ties in Intertainment’s other rich media properties into a platform which it claims will deliver top-tier brands to users within the framework of a social network.
The service will debut at the South By SouthWest conference in Austin, TX, which runs from March 13th to March 17th, and with their new Microsoft partnership, it isn’t surprising that they’ll also be showing their wares at MIX09, Microsoft’s web design and development conference in Las Vegas (March 18th to the 20th).
While many companies have video content, social networking or voice-powered communication, very few have combined these disparate threads into one service, and fewer still have launched it as a desktop app. Add Microsoft to the mix and itibiti may have an unstoppable client on its hands.
