Intuit is launching a #FinanceHub at Ryerson University’s Digital Media Zone to help the incubator’s startups manage their bookkeeping.
“At Intuit, we’re passionate about helping small businesses thrive,” the company explains. “Bookkeeping, while such an important piece of the healthy-business equation, tends to be a particular pain point for startups.”
By leveraging the expertise of trusted advisors, the #FinanceHub provides financial advice and services to the DMZ’s startups to help fuel their success
“Startups are building products and solutions that are changing how we do business around the world, but emerging entrepreneurial leaders will need to be comfortable with financial management if they want to stay afloat,” Intuit added.
DMZ was recently ranked the leading university-based incubator in North America by UBI Global, a Stockholm-based research organization that specializes in benchmarking incubation programs. Up from second place last year, the DMZ was ranked the highest among 60 programs of its kind in North America.
The benchmark looked at more than 50 performance indicators, and the DMZ scored highly in areas that included talent retention, economy enhancement and post-incubation relationships.nFive years after launching, more than 200 startups have incubated at the DMZ. They have collectively raised over $120 million in seed funding and have fostered the creation of 2,000 jobs.
