Montreal’s Tribal Nova announced yesterday the closing of a $3 Million growth financing round from Montreal’s iNovia Capital and ID Capital. The funds will be used to launch virtual worlds and services in new international markets and to support the rapid increase of customers for existing products. Tribal Nova creates its own gaming and virtual-world products for 3-12 year-olds and also partners with media companies to make games.
Tribal Nova has already partnered with PBS, CBC, and Bayard Jeunesse to launch educational online services for 3-6 year olds in the US, French and Canadian markets. They also develop online games featuring children’s favorite TV characters such as Caillou, Bob the Builder, The Doodlebops, Totally Spies, Magi–Nation and many others. The company works in partnership with leading television producers such as Decode Entertainment, Cookie Jar Entertainment, Nelvana, or Marathon on both the European and North American markets.
Tribal Nova’s CBC partnership includes the upcoming CBC Wonder World – a subscription-based virtual world that promises education and entertaining content that’s 100% Canadian.
