Second Day of Microsoft Build Looks at Momentum of Azure Platform, Office Suite

Microsoft recently hosted Build, a multi-day conference in San Francisco.

As with previous years, Microsoft Build 2016 continued to focus on enabling developers to do amazing work as businesses and industries transform in support of the shift to a cloud-first, mobile-first world. Filled with strong technical sessions as well as opportunities to meet and learn from others in the industry, the conference saw Microsoft make a number of announcements, both big and small.

Azure, the company’s cloud computing platform, is seeing strong momentum, with more than 120,000 new customer subscriptions per month. Today, 85% of Fortune 500 uses Azure, according to Microsoft.

Meanwhile, the famous suite of Office products now boasts 1.2 billion users. The company launched add-ins for Mac users at Build, a small but important announcement for Apple fans who favor Microsoft’s more robust lineup of productivity software.
