Mission Hill Winery proprietor talks about his success

The Mission Hill Winery in the wine country of B.C.’s Okanagan Valley wasn’t always an award-winning distiller. In fact, when owner Anthony von Mandl started the winery in 1981, there were no accolades or Italian-style architecture; just a few aluminum shacks and a dream.

So how did von Mandl go from basically nothing to a winery that put the Okanagan Valley on the map? He’ll be telling his story on October 14 at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel in Vancouver, for an event called “Decanting Success: from Grapes to Green” presented by the BC Technology Industry Association.

The two-hour event, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. costs $55 for BCTIA members, $36 for students and $80 for non members. You can register here.
