Multiplied Media partners with OpenTable

Calgary’s Multiplied Media Corporation announced today that they will be integrating the OpenTable reservation and guest management solution with Multiplied’s Poynt Local Search service. North American users of the Poynt service will have access to finding and reserving table availability at over 10,000 restaurants.

“Time-crunched consumers are looking for new and more efficient ways to get the information they need to go about their daily activities,” said Andrew Osis, CEO, Multiplied Media. “We’re integrating OpenTable’s ability to find and confirm restaurant reservations with our ability to distance-sort listings relevant to the user’s location, allowing users to find, in real-time, nearby available reservations. This added functionality has been a popular request from existing users of Poynt.”

The ability for Poynt users to search for and make reservations complements the existing ability to find and connect with local businesses, retailers and movie theaters. Multiplied anticipates that OpenTable content will be available for Poynt on the BlackBerry in Canada and the United States during Q1 of 2009 with additional platforms being rolled out later in the year.

OpenTable is a leading provider of free, real-time online restaurant reservations for diners and guest management solutions for restaurants. Since its inception in 1998, more than 85 million diners have been seated through OpenTable online reservations; on average, nearly three million diners are seated each month.
