NAVTEQ hosts location-based service app contest

NAVTEQ is a world leader in digital map data and content.  You’ll find NAVTEQ data onboard most in-vehicle navigation systems sold in North America and Europe and it’s also the driving force behind a generation of mobile navigation services, including Enterprise/Fleet/GIS solutions and Location Based Services (LBS).

Hundreds of applications around the world use NAVTEQ digital map data and now NAVTEQ is challenging them to come forward and be recognized through the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge.

Meet face-to-face with key decision-makers and gain the exposure you need to successfully launch your app. When submitting your NAVTEQ-powered LBS app, you’ll also be eligible to win a share of a prize pool worth millions (USD) in cash and data licenses.

Why should I enter?

  • More exposure for your application: Get the invaluable exposure needed to launch your app. Over 32% of past Global LBS Challenge finalists have received venture capital funding or launched commercially-distributed applications.
  • More prizes to win: The global prize pool for this year’s competition starts at a record $8.2 million USD in cash and licenses and is expected to grow. In addition, a number of “Best Of…” recognitions will be awarded in different categories.
  • More platforms and devices to target: Contestants may now submit their pre-commercialized location-based applications for any platform and for any device, using NAVTEQ map data.

The registration deadline for North America is November 20th, so enter your location-based app now.
