Netflix Slowest on Telus in Canada, Fastest on Bell; Rogers Greatly Boosts Speed

Watching Netflix might be a different experience depending on which service provider supplies your internet connection.

Telus ranked behind Bell, Rogers, and Shaw for Netflix speeds, according to the latest speed report from the video streaming giant.

Bell’s fiber optic network clocks in at an average of 3.3 Mbps, Shaw at 3.1 Mbps, Rogers at three Mbps, and Telus at 2.9 Mbps. Regional providers such as Videotron and Eastlink are scattered amongst the major telcos.

In Netflix’s last report, Rogers was dead last—at a staggeringly throttled 1.7 Mbps—but, to its credit, fulfilled its promise to speed up streaming.
