The Banff World Television Festival is widely considered to be one of the more important International media events in Canada. The famous Canadian Rocky Mountains play host to this festival, which combines an international program competition with a comprehensive conference agenda. 

Banff 2010 is looking as strong as ever. It includes content designed to keep you on the cutting edge of both traditional and multi-platform television programming. According to its website, Banff 2010 aims to build on the expertise and knowledge of 31 years to continue to attract the most prestigious players in the industry while addressing the changing climate of the international marketplace.

The conference portion of the event will include feature interviews, keynotes, and key streams, all boasting successful writers, directors, producers and top executives. The awards portion of the event, the 2010 Banff World Television Awards, has been called “the Olympics of television.”  This year, there are new categories: The Drama categories at this year’s Rockie Awards will now expand to include soap operas, and three Francophone categories will be added to the roster. The networking portion of the event are expected to be valuable, with opportunities including face-to-face sessions, cocktail receptions, lunches, pitching sessions, and more.

The event runs from June 13th to 16th. Day passes are $645, with full passes costing $1,645. Registered delegates can purchase a Social Pass for a guest for $400.
