Yahoo just acquired Tumblr this past weekend for $1.1 billion, but it’s already on the hunt for another purchase.
According to a report from The Los Angeles Times, the company has set its sights on Hulu, a US-based video service owned by News Corp and Walt Disney. It’s not the only company that wants Hulu though—other interested parties include Time Warner Cable and DirecTV, according to sources.
Hulu is for sale due to disagreements between News Corp and Walt Disney. The company generated approximately $700 million in 2012.
The fact that Yahoo is seeking another major acquisition before the ink has even dried on the Tumblr deal is strong evidence that CEO Marissa Mayer is determined to run the company differently than her predecessors. Whether that is a good thing or not remains to be seen.
