On Mobile, Canadians More into Fitness, Less into Games Than Americans

86 percent of the time Canadians spend on mobile devices is spent in apps and 14 percent is spent in the browser, new data shows.

Flurry from Yahoo data shows Canadians spend the most time in messaging and social apps, with Facebook leading the way at 22 percent of total time, followed by music, media and entertainment, where Canadians spend a combined 16 percent of total time.

Americans spend a lot less time in entertainment than Canadians, while Canadians spend much less time playing games on their mobile devices (14% for Canadians compared with 32% for Americans).

Health and fitness apps are growing by far the fastest at 140% year-over-year, followed by sports apps (88%) and productivity apps (also 88%).
