Customers really love their iPads. They’ll do anything to keep their tablet and they use it in all sorts of ways.
According to a survey from Brainshark, 40% of iPad owners would rather get in a minor car accident than having their device destroyed. 32% would rather have a root canal, 16% would rather break their nose, and 10% would rather get fired.
Brainshark reveals that one in three iPad owners use their tablet while completely naked and well over have used it on the toilet (note: don’t touch other people’s iPads). And one in five have used it in the tub, a particularly risky endeavour. 24% have bumped into someone while using their iPad walking.
The study also highlights where the device really excels. 73% have taken it on a plane (89% among business travellers), where it acts as a movie player, music player, e-reader, and much more. 92% have even brought it on vacation—along with half who have taken it to a client meeting, suggesting it’s useful for both personal and professional reasons. Let’s just hope they took it to the client meeting before using it naked on the toilet.
“No one doubts the device’s popularity, but what’s really eye-opening about these statistics is just how inextricable the iPad has become from users’ everyday lives,” said Andy Zimmerman, chief marketing officer for Brainshark.
