PlentyOfFish Reaches 100 Million Users, Reveals Revenue Run Rate

PlentyOfFish announced today it has reached a new milestone in surpassing 100 million users worldwide.

The Vancouver company also stated it has doubled revenue since 2012, putting its current annual run rate at $100 million.

The world’s largest dating site says most new growth has come from mobile. 80% of members’ usage now occurs via a mobile device.

“Since our shift to mobile we’ve seen rapid growth both in terms of users and revenue,” said PlentyOfFish founder and CEO, Markus Frind. “Our revenue model has also evolved from one driven by advertising to one driven by paid membership, indicating that, now more than ever, singles are willing to pay for an enhanced user experience.”

Also, user and revenue gains are indicative of “growing acceptance of online dating,” POF says.

“Our focus moving forward is to continue to innovate our algorithm and technology to assist with even more qualified matches, leading to more successful, long-lasting relationships,” Frind noted.
