Polar Mobile Re-brand Reflects Changing Mobile Landscape

Toronto’s Polar Mobile has come a long way since being founded by a group of enterprising young University students in 2007. Today they announced a company-wide re-brand which marks the next evolution of Polar Mobile’s visual identity and the underlying mobile landscape.

Polar’s Kunal Gupta blogged about the re-brand: “Today, I am excited to share with you the next evolution of Polar Mobile’s visual identity. For almost 5 years, Polar has been the partner of choice to media companies who look to build audience engagement through native and web applications”.

“We have earned the trust of 400 media brands and 1.2 million monthly active users who download apps meant to entertain and inform them in their daily lives in over 170 countries and territories”.

A lot has changed in the 5 years since Polar Mobile’s genesis.

In those early days, BlackBerry and Nokia dominated the niche smartphone market, mobile applications were something big businesses built and the Apple iPhone had yet to disrupt the market.

Today, BlackBerry is on the ropes, anyone can have their own mobile app, and the iPhone has evolved into a market dominating magical device.

Congrats to Polar Mobile on the re-brand. And for anybody out there looking to join a leader in the mobile space, they’re hiring designers and developers.
