RBC Innovation Mini Challenge For Students

RBC’s Next Great Innovator wants to get fresh ideas for big problems from Canadian University students. Starting this September RBC will provide entrants with a real world problem to solve. Entrees must come from teams of two to four students from any university in Canada and the top five teams will receive $45,000 in prizes. Although the main question entrants will be answering has not been released yet, RBC has already begun a mini challenge to help promote the contest.

The RBC Innovation Mini Challenge is the warm up to the Next Great Innovator and offers a $1,000 prize for the best answer to their question about social innovation. This year’s mini challenge question is: “Organizations that support Social Innovation and create social good will do better if they can work together but currently mechanisms do not exist that support easy and effective group-to-group collaboration. Suggest innovative ways to allow these organizations to connect and collaborate.”

Proposals are due by September 27th, 2009. If you are interested in this topic you can register now for the Innovation Mini Challenge. It’s a great way to expand your horizons outside of school, maybe win a little cash and build up the resume.
