ReadWriteWeb’s most promising Web trends for 2008

ReadWriteWeb is weighing in with what they feel will be the big positive trends for the Web in 2008, with several developments which dovetail work being done in Vancouver’s tech community. At the top of their list is the continued growth of the open source movement, as well as the growth of the mobile web and the continued push for OpenID adoption. They also feature OpenAds, a new alternative advertising network touted as an alternative to Google’s dominant Adsense program. With companies like AdHack, SXIP, Raincity Studios, and many others working in this space, Vancouver’s tech firms stand to benefit from the continued growth of open standards in 2008 and beyond.
