Richard Branson urges Rogers to stop making up fees

Richard Branson, the maverick and founder of Virgin Mobile, threw down the gauntlet in response to Roger’s announcement that they are replacing their system access fees with what is being called the government regulatory recovery fee. Branson is calling for new standards in the mobile industry that would kill “made-up” fees and stop mobile firms from misleading consumers.

Branson’s challenge is backed up by a new national ad campaign from Virgin Mobile that takes Rogers’ bogus fees to town and calls for honesty to replace their smoke and mirrors. Virgin Mobile will be approaching mobile industry authorities regarding the creation of more strict standards to protect consumers.
