RIM to Launch a 4G PlayBook Next Week: Report

Various reports have surfaced across the web that suggest Waterloo’s Research In Motion is planning to launch a 4G-enabled version of its BlackBerry PlayBook as early as next week.

According to multiple sites, including Mobile Syrup, who revealed leaked documents from wireless carrier Bell, a 4G PlayBook will launch on July 31 with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and dual-facing cameras running OS 2.0.

However, prepare for sticker shock: while the regular tablets have been selling for as little as $200 for close to a year now, the price tag for this 4G device could be $549.
