SavvyMom Media Launches SavvyStories, Shares Traffic With Canadian Mom Bloggers

Many mom bloggers dream of turning their blog into a successful business. However, in order to do so, you need lots of traffic. One way to generate more traffic is to partner with larger sites that already have a significant following.

Yesterday, Toronto-based SavvyMom Media, a leading online resource for moms in Canada, announced the launch of SavvyStories, a social content curation platform which offers a traffic-sharing opportunity for select Canadian mom bloggers.

Twenty Canadian moms have been selected to be on the list of bloggers at launch. However, Canadian mom bloggers are invited to apply to be included on the SavvyStories channel as SavvyMom content partners.

According to the 2011 Moms and Media report published by Edison Research, the Internet is the medium most used by moms to find compelling content. “Canadian moms are attracted to authentic, high-quality content. Yet, given the universe of Canadian mom bloggers who actively publish their own content, separating the wheat from the chaff is challenging,” said SavvyMom Media Managing Editor and Co-founder, Minnow Hamilton. “SavvyStories is a practical solution for time-starved moms who are looking for an easy and convenient way to find fresh, quality content on the Internet.”

Using Atomic Reach curation technology, SavvyStories allows participating content contributors to easily push their content to the online platform. The SavvyMom editorial team curates and approves the content that gets published to the SavvyMom audience.

There is no revenue sharing piece of the SavvyStories traffic sharing partnership being offered at this time. However, the Atomic Reach platform allows blog content to be viewed through a split page iFrame, so that SavvyMom can run an ad on the page and any ads that the blogger already has in place will also run. In the short term, everyone benefits from the extended reach. However, SavvyMom Media plans to move into a more formal network, or group opportunity, where they will sell ads and custom sponsorship opportunities for any of the bloggers who are already part of the SavvyStories group and who wish to monetize their site further.
