Charlottetown’s very own ScreenScape have just made the Deloitte Fast 50 Top Ten Technology Companies-To-Watch list; the first Atlantic Canadian company to do so… ever.
The award recognizes companies with less than five years under their belts that Deloitte feels have potential to join their Deloitte Technology Fast 50 someday in the future. Duncan Stewart, director of technology research for Deloitte, feels this may even happen within a year or two.
Of the ten companies chosen, seven were from Ontario, ScreenScape represented PEI, and Quebec and Alberta rounded off the list.
ScreenScape are a community-based digital signage company, who supply companies with the means to tailor and broadcast content to their audience. With clients all over the world, odds are you’ve seen their product anywhere from the mall cafeteria to your dentist’s waiting room. ScreenScape allows businesses to coordinate their marketing strategies on both a national and local scale, being employed by companies like Booster Juice and Source For Sports. Recently, the company have even begun integrating services such as Foursquare into their product.
“We look for depth of management team, ethical behaviour, corporate culture, size of the market they’re addressing, even the business model,” says Mr. Stewart, “We don’t want to just reward somebody for high revenue growth. We want to make sure that they’re profitable, and growing, and creating jobs and value in their communities.”
